(Please see links below on important information for infrared cameras and their purpose built functions).

INFRARED THERMAL IMAGING CAMERAS.

B-SERIES = BUILDING CARMERAS.
The B-SERIES cameras are purpose built and designed for the building industry the B-250 AND B335 cameras feature dew point indicators, humidity and insulation alarms and other important features that are essential when performing inspections on building applications and are distinctive in colour
YELLOW black and silver.

Please note LEAK DETECTIVE uses
B250 AND B335 thermal imaging cameras for all building diagnostic work.

T – SERIES = ELECTRIC AND MANCHANICAL CAMERAS
The
T-SERIES cameras are purpose built and designed for electrical and mechanical industries and are distinctive in colour by their RED black and silver colours and should specifically be used for electrical and mechanical inspection work. Unfortunately most Property, Leak and Moisture reporting companies are incorrectly using a range of these T-SERIES cameras (predominantly T-200 ,T-250, T-360 model cameras) to perform Property, Leak and Moisture inspections.

If you are comparing companies equipment and qualifications it would definitely pay to find out what the make and model of the camera that is being used first and if the operator of the correct? camera is AINDT (Australian Institute of Non-Destructive Testing / Melbourne University) trained to operate the camera.

FURTHER IMPORTANT PROPERTY REPORTING INFORMATION.

MOISTURE METERS.

Non-invasive moisture readings should be performed in digits when measuring multiple combined materials and not percentages unless performing invasive testing and or only if able to physically make contact with the timber framing that is being tested with the device which it calibrated with. If you are performing non-invasive pre-purchase inspections It would pay to find out if the inspector is measuring their moisture in digits, as materials such as Wall paper, Paint, Gibb board, Building paper and other wall lining finishers may prevent the inspector being able to make direct contact with the timber framing.
